My Approach
I take a feminine approach to coaching. I focus first on supporting my clients to discover themselves. I know from experience that goals identified from this place of inner authority are more powerful, compelling and fulfilling. Often times people seek a coach to assist them to reach goals they ‘think’, or have been told, will make them happy. These are usually fools gold and people realise this on their own when they find themselves first.
Rachael takes a feminine approach supporting her clients to discover themselves first.
Rachael the Coach
I approach the coaching relationship with a healthy mix of professionalism and candour. I have experienced coaching to be it’s most powerful when it is integrated into the coachee’s life; as such coaching sessions are informal at a café or over the phone and the coaching relationship, although professional, resembles that of a trusted girlfriend. Private facilities in reputable clinic’s are available should we require more privacy for some sessions.
Rachael has been described by clients as “Miss Wise”, a reference to her insight and down to earth approach
Rachael's Clients
My passion is to help other women cultivate a graceful way of being. I understand the multitude of competing priorities a modern woman faces and help her clients to calmly and gracefully enjoy their lives and follow their goals. My ideal clients are typically women in their 20’s & 30 are who know first hand that there must be a better way. They are dedicated to their own personal growth, have an open mind, a good sense of humour and budget appropriately for my services.
"Gracefulness has been defined to be the outward expression of the inward harmony of the soul”
- William Hazlitt
The difference between coaching & counselling/psychotherapy
There are a number of fundamental differences between coaching & counselling;
- A counsellor or psychologist work within a medical paradigm, coaching is holistic in nature
- Counselling/Psychotherapy may be rebatable through health insurance, coaching is not. Some may be entitled to claim coaching as a tax deduction, please speak to your accountant
- Counselling/Psychotherapy are appropriate modalities to address past traumas where as coaching primarily focuses on future goals
- Counsellors/Psychologists are responsible for the process and the results, due in large part to their expertise. Coaches are responsible for the process and guiding & encouraging the client to create their results.
There are some more subtle differences:
- Counselling/Psychotherapy focuses predominately on how you have felt in the past and what it means. Coaching is focused predominately on how you want to feel in the future and how to create that outcome.
- Coaching is often a fun and uplifting process identifying values and goals, where as Counselling/Psychotherapy often entails addressing past traumas and difficulties.
- Counselling/Psychotherapy very rarely have set end goals and it can be difficult to measure success or outcomes. Coaching develops goals and sets about achieving them.
I am not making a case for one modality over another and offer this information to help you decide whether coaching is the modality that will best serve you. All modalities have a place and each offer a piece of the pie. If you are at all uncertain please contact me to discuss your options further. If I am not the best person to work with you I will refer you to someone I trust.
"When I first started coaching, I was a MESS. I was in uncontrolled debt, had just lost my job, and was failing at Uni (again). Rachael made sure I focused on the manageable things first; getting rid of the easily fixed, but continuously avoided, issues.
Once my bills were paid and my life was seemingly on a (more) straight track, it was time to set those real, long term goals that would form and focus my choices and life. I can’t believe how different and more controllable my life is now. Now I know my goals and values & I feel that within my life I am actually serving a purpose."

Rachael’s professional journey
My own personal development passion began 10 years ago and it was 5 years later, in 2004 that I received her first qualification. I first trained in energetic disciplines and quickly combined them with the art of Kinesiology. Having always had a healthy respect the effect our language has on our lives I became qualified as a Neuro Linguistic Coach. Today I bring all my skills to my clients including a background in finance and meditation. I continue to learn and update my skills and I am currently pursuing further studies in Life Coaching.
"Thank you for your time and concern, I found you incredibly helpful when I came to see you, and I think you are very intuitive, or just very good at your job...maybe both, but either way THANK YOU!"
